Sykehouse Cottage

A beautiful C17th Holiday Cottage in the Lake District

Welcome to Sykehouse Cottage …

… a beautifully renovated cottage in the lively South Lake District town of Broughton in Furness.  Set in the National Park, the cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms and is an ideal base for exploring the Coniston and Duddon Valley area of the Lake District.

Sykehouse Cottage is a seventeenth century Grade II listed building which has been carefully restored to keep the original features of the old two up, two down cottage while the new extension adds extra bedrooms and a modern, fully equipped kitchen.

“… the nicest self catering place I’ve ever rented. The cottage itself is a wonderful, tasteful renovation from the original 17th century building … plenty of space, as well as creature comforts such as underfloor heating and a roaring wood-burner …  Then there is Broughton itself which is the perfect place for a Lakes holiday, complete with fantastic butcher and green grocer, award winning bakery and coffee shop, several pubs including the lovely Manor Arms.”

“Fantastic cottage very close to charming village with great shops, pubs and park for kids.  Close enough to Lakes to visit but cheaper and quieter!”

“It is a lovely house and we loved the village: great pubs and beautiful area. House is very nicely decorated and clean. It has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We immediately felt at home and enjoyed the log fire. Easy access to good walking. We will definitely be back! ”
